Wildebeests Migration In Serengeti National Park, Tanzania Tours
Discover the magic of Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, the greatest wildlife destination on Earth. The Park is one of the most famous Parks in Africa and offers some of the best wildlife viewings in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Serengeti is a vast ecosystem spanning over 12,000 square miles (30,000 square kilometers). The Park stretches from northern Tanzania into the south of Kenya inter-joining with the Masai Mara.
It is best known for its huge herds of plains animals, especially wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras, and it is the only place in Africa where vast land-animal migrations still take place. The park, an international tourist attraction, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981. The Serengeti is famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration, the largest animal migration in the world. Every year, more than 2 million animals (wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle) migrate in a clockwise direction across the ecosystems of the Serengeti (Tanzania) and the Masai Mara (Kenya).
The Serengeti plains harbor the largest remaining unaltered animal migration in the world where over one million wildebeest plus hundreds of thousands of other ungulates engage in a 1,000 km long annual circular trek spanning the two adjacent countries of Kenya and Tanzania. This spectacular phenomenon takes place in a unique scenic setting of ‘endless plains’: 25,000 km2 of treeless expanses of spectacularly flat short grasslands dotted with rocky outcrops interspersed with rivers and woodlands.
The Park also hosts one of the largest and most diverse predator-prey interactions worldwide, providing a particularly impressive aesthetic experience with over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and some 500 bird species. The biological diversity of the park is very high with at least four globally threatened or endangered animal species: black rhinoceros, elephant, wild dog, and cheetah.
Serengeti is perfect for day and night game drives, bird watching, hot air ballooning, and guided nature walks.
The Serengeti is a must-miss on any tourist's bucket list and Ultimate Wild Safaris is here to make your dream come true.
